Anjenita is a Counselling Psychologist with 26 years’of experience. She has dedicated her career to understand, learn and find ways to effectively support others impacted by trauma. Her approach is holistic and she incorporates various, well researched, approaches and methodologies in her work with her clients.

A strong and interwoven value of Anjenita is a commitment to self-development, lifelong learning and serving others. She believes as a therapist/ healer/ counsellor/ guide/ teacher, one can only guide others on a path that one first walked by onself. Her work is deeply committed to the assistance, recovery, and healing of those she works with, which can only be described as respectful, creative and engaging in manner.

Active Participant

Anjenita is an active participant in the field she is of service to and serves on various committees as well.

She serves on the first EMDR-SA Committee of the newly established society in South Africa since 2023. EMDR is a trauma therapy that is internationally recognized as one of the preferred therapeutic modalities when it comes to trauma.

Anjenita has been involved and has served on the EXCO for MAYDAY SA since 2013. Mayday SA is a Peer Support Programme within the aviation industry.

Peer Support Programs

Anjenita has exstensive experience in Peer Support programmes as well as training Peer-supporters in the field of Aviation. She served on the Exco for Mayday-SA, an NPO Peer-Support Organization within the aviation industry for many years. Mayday-SA supports all aviation license holders in the time of critical incidents and life stressors. She is the lead trainer for Mayday-SA since 2013 and has played an active role in the development, establishment, delivery, and support of the Peer-support training program.

First Responder Support

She is involved on a voluntary basis in many ways. Not only with Peer-Support, but also supporting First Line Responders as well as Search and Rescue personnel and volunteers. She supports and assists with debriefing members and personnel on a regular basis and strives to establish a culture of mental wellbeing within the industry. She is also an active member of SARZA – a voluntary Search and Rescue organization within South Africa.
